Dell Shipping woes?

Ok so i ordered a Dell xps computer on 12/12/07 for Christmas. But when i checked my order status, it said that it wouldnt ship until the 27th and that the estimated arrival date is early January. Why does it take them 2 weeks to emble my computer? That should take like 3 hours..not more than a day. And is that an overestimate? basically, do i have any hope that it will come in time for Christmas? Why doesnt dell realize that about 95% of the orders that they get in December are for Christmas? cant they be more considerate????:(
