How are the climates of the Northern Hemisphere different from the climates of the Southern Hemisphere?

The northern hemisphere tends to be cooler, and the southern hemisphere tends to be warmer. Just think of Australia and Canada. Australia has a hot climate, whereas Canada has a colder one.
