He text me back! More Heartache?

After a break up- I held out for 5 days. We broke up softly and agreed that we should still be in eachother's life, because we started as friends. The second I left his house I fell apart and have been a mess since. Last night I text him "I miss you and wana work things out." He wrote back this morning that we would have to talk about stuff, maybe this weekend? I wrote back, yes we should. He said sounds good. Am I headed for more heartache?
